Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 21, 2026

The short version: Lexicon does not require an account, does not collect your name or email, and stores all your game data on your device. We use ads and analytics services that may collect device-level data as described below.

Who We Are

Lexicon — Daily Word Puzzle ("Lexicon", "the app") is developed and operated by Phil Robinson ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information is collected when you use Lexicon and how it is handled.

What We Collect

Lexicon does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information. All gameplay data — scores, streaks, settings, and progress — is stored locally on your device using standard platform storage. We do not have access to this data and it never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

Lexicon uses the following third-party services, each of which may collect certain data as described in their own privacy policies:

Google AdMob — We show ads to free users after completing a puzzle (a maximum of 3 per day). AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and general interaction data to serve and measure ads. On iOS 14 and above, you will be asked for permission before any tracking occurs. You can decline and still use the app — you'll simply see less relevant ads.

RevenueCat — We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. When you subscribe, RevenueCat processes the transaction through Apple or Google and receives a purchase token and anonymous user identifier. It does not receive your name, email, or payment details.

Firebase Cloud Storage — Puzzle content is delivered via Google Firebase. Firebase may log IP addresses and device information as part of standard infrastructure operations. We do not store any user data in Firebase.

Subscriptions

Lexicon offers optional premium subscriptions (monthly and annual) through Apple's App Store and Google Play. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment information. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings.

Notifications

Lexicon may send local notifications (daily reminders, streak alerts, and milestone celebrations) if you grant permission. These are generated entirely on your device — no data is sent to any server. You can disable notifications at any time in the app's settings or in your device's system settings.

Children's Privacy

Lexicon is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Data Retention

Since all gameplay data is stored on your device, you control it entirely. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Third-party services retain data according to their own policies.

Your Choices

You can decline ad tracking when prompted on iOS. You can disable notifications in the app or in your device settings. You can subscribe to Premium to remove all ads. You can delete all your data by uninstalling the app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
